Nice find! Sure beats finding them on the ground still attached to a skull with skeletal remains.

Nice, good that the mice haven't been gnawing on them too.

A beautiful set all right. Why is it that western antlers stay around so long and eastern antlers are eaten by mice, squirrels and porcupines as soon as they are shed? I've seen piles as tall as I am of untouched shed antlers picked up out west.
My other auto is a .45

We try to pick up every shed we see, as they are hell on tractor and truck tires lying in the tall grass and weeds in the summer, my pile goes down every year from giving them to people wanting them. Rio7

Exactly, but why isn't there a gnawed one in the bunch? Are all our mini gnawing critters calcium deficient? Our sheds will be chewed in days.

why isn't there a gnawed one in the bunch? Think it depends on the environment and overall mineral nutrition. As a kid in Va, Tenn, and WVa one almost had to see antler drop to come up with an unmolested sample. Out here in SE Oregon an antler can sit for years without being chewed.

1minute, I agree. While I occasionally find a pure specimen, many are hit early by the rodents. I have even shot bucks that have rodent gnaw marks on their antlers while they were still alive. That would be something to see... flying squirrel in the headgear? A mouse or chipmunk while the deer is asleep?
Wouldn't mind finding a matched set like OP!

That's one pile here's the other pile some day we will get them all in one pile, I gave away at least 2 pickup loads of sheds this spring, one load went to a knife maker in Missouri. Rio7
