Damn, I am the only Conrad who likes coconut.

I shall threaten to cut her off if she does not make them for me anyway....

And by cut her off, I mean stop making cajun food for her.

I remember my Mother and both Grandmothers had files and drawers of labels with recipes on them from cans, boxes, packages etc.

When My Paternal Grandmother passed one of my daughters grabbed a bunch of them, as well as handwritten recipes in her own hand.

More motivation. Coconut isn’t as browned as it appears in picture.

Do your jambalaya and gumbo have tomatoes in them?

I have not made the jambalaya yet, but no, my gumbo does not contain tomato.

It may someday, but I have only made it twice!

We call these 7 layer cookies.
These and a real good chocolate chip are the only cookie I need.

For my "real good" chocolate chip, add 1/2 cup flour and a package of instant vanilla pudding to the Toll House receipe.

I asked because tomato is on the dividing line between Cajun and Creole. Generally, the Creole versions of dishes have tomato and the Cajun ones don't.

If you look up pictures of these dishes you'll see reddish gumbo with okra, that's Creole. Cajun gumbo is brown and typically uses much darker roux. Creole jambalaya is red like the rice you get in Mexican food, Cajun jambalaya is brown like rice & gravy.

No Conrads in my pedigree, so I don't think we are kin. But, I'm a life-long fan of coconut!

I had a braised Sausage/Potato concoction that Martha Stewart dreamed up with a Bacon and Bean concoction I dreamed up.
I overcooked the potatoes a tich so I had to take my teeth out to eat em but other than that it was pretty good .
