Help us all, that is!

Dearly Beloved; that ignominious "bender of truth" Michael Moore (he of the infamous 'Bowling for Columbine' outrage) is seeking to petition Wal-Mart to quit selling ammo.

There's a counter-petition in the works, already with over 31000 signatures, that nonetheless still needs YOUR personal endorsement. Please please pretty please go here: http://www.PetitionOnline.com/GT1776/petition.html , read it (it is brief), and take care of business!

Yeah, I know you don't buy your 'good stuff' from Wally-World, but that's not the point! C'mon, give 5 minutes of your time to indicate your affirmative support of shooting sports, personal defense, and the good ol' 2nd Constitutional Amendment! Keep America strong, join the fray! and thank you! Thank you. And you and you, and you! -- Thanky'all vurry much!

I should not have had that last brewski before posting this, but, if Wally-World listens to that fat, stupid socialist pri** they can kiss my ass and my business good-bye.

We gun owners were very influential in dealing with K-Mart and anyone can beat Wally's ammo prices through either the net or publications like The Shotgun News.

Amazing to me how many people respond to the Moore types out of emotion and without exercising any common sense. He's got to be up there on the list of "World's Biggest Phonies" right along with Geraldo.

I discovered that I was short on my Speer Gold Dot 124's the other day, so I thought I would check Wally World to see if they had any. I go to the desk and ask the clerk if he had any. Well, he gives me a blank look and says "huh"? Turns out that all they sell is ball ammo. So I start talking to this guy about SD ammo. I tell him that they should think about carrying it due to the fact that MI is a shall issue state and that they would probably sell a bunch of it. To the clerks credit, he seemed genuinely interested and asked a lot of questions about different brands, caliber and so forth. I wrote a bunch of brands, and calibers down for him to give him an idea of where to start. He said that he would talk to his manager and see if he could purchase some for the store. Don't know if it will make a difference or not, but who knows? I find it amazing though that no one else thought to make mention of this to the clerk in this store. Gun ownership and shooting is very popular around here and I was very suprised to find that they did not carry that type of ammo.
We'll see what happens.
Keeb

I know this is going to go over like a whore in church, but I can't stand Wal-Mart, and I won't shop there if I can avoid it. I don't like the way they put Mom-and-Pop shops out of buisness and how they do a big disservice to small comunities. I just had to vent.

i could not possibly agree more. what is gonna happen is most people go to the Mega-Lo Mart (wallyworld) because they can save $.99. then all the mom and pop stores go out of business. then when the Mega-Lo Mart decides to stop selling certain things (handguns, ammo, then rifles) where ya gonna go? all the other stuff there is made in China anyway (remember when they used sell stuff only made in the U.S.). i will not go to wallyworld no matter what. not meaning to flame here, but want to convey my thoughts.

Newguy & sr_muerte,
Nothing ever said about you buying anything from walmart. We just don't want them to bow out on another of Moores ways against guns and ammo. If he succeeds in this, its another nail in your coffin on gun rights. I agree 100% that walmart helped put a lot of Mom/Pop operations out of business, along with some others not to mention. I also think it was part of the coming of age thing too. We will see the fall of retailers like walmart and others just like we seen the Mom/Pop stores fail. Its just a matter of time and part of life. Don't let Moore succeed in his effort of prohibiting ammo sales. It will be mail order next and local sporting good stores. Sign the petition!

As a matter of principle I by American first, as you know this is getting harder by the day to do. I want to try and keep my money here. In the same vein, I try to buy from local merchants before going to one of the "chains" to try and keep as much money in the local economy as I can. My preferences are based on keeping the money as close to home as I can, pure and simple. I'll pay a bit more for personel service and to keep the local economy liquid.

We have about backed our economic butt into a corner with all the outsourcing to other countries to save a few pennies. Be it electronics, cars, tools, household goods or guns and ammo, we do all the R&D and then let others make it for us, this is not a healthy way to maintain a balance of trade. Nor is it a very good way to build a strong economy, no matter what the quality of the item.

I just don't want to see more restrictions on where things are sold, .gov mandated or scared retailers giving in to the panty wetters.

Just my .02 on the matter.
