Those were right handy, 260. Getting wet didn't help them...:)

Had a 243 that I was going to have a smith remake to a 263 Waters, but it was another aborted project. That 284 with 120s was a great little deer killer.

I never had any luck with the 284s, but the 243s and 308s have worked flawlessly for me, regardless of the weather.

Well for that particular 284, it probably wasn't the wet weather as much as the neglect that followed...:)

IIRC, there was a stainless gas piston offered later by someone. Forgotten what that factory 120g bullet was, but it always worked well for me and a compadre. BAR in 7mm-08 now for the same kind of hunting.

I like a trigger safety 99F savage with a williams foolproof.

Also like my remington 552 with a weaver 2.5X on it...

natural shooting rigs are a joy to run...

over the past 15 or 20 years I've been hunting a TC G2 in 30/40 K. The barrel was made by MGM and shoots well. there are several others TC G2 in 375 JDJ, another in 444Marlin and 260 Win browning Low Wall. There are more guns then I am able to hunt.
