I don't know of a particular cuisine one would associate with our area, but Mooses Tooth Pizza is ranked top in the nation and Broken Tooth beers are just as good. The strange thing is, in spite of world class fishing and seafood, I really can't think of any world class seafood restaurants in town. I just stayed at the Townplace Suites in Anchorage behind the Moose's Tooth and had a pizza there last week. VERY good!

,,, and whatever they fry up at the state fair! Which is absolutely everything (food or not) that they can stick into the fryer.

Here in MO. it's barbeque beef especially burnt ends and ribs. Fried catfish, walleye, corn on the cob and new potatoes are faves. Country cured ham is big. Springtime trifecta meal... crappie fillets, morels and thin sliced and fried turkey breast. When I was young, quail were plentiful and a great meal but there are so few that most people don't hunt them now.

I have enjoyed reading the thread. I'm in central Alabama and will throw in a few things I enjoy. Cheese grits, tomato gravy, bacon grease gravy, fried crappie or bream, cat head biscuits, cracklin cornbread, turnip greens, tomato sandwiches on sunbeam bread, conecuh sausage, wickles pickles and pickled okra, hoop cheese, souse meat...I could go on but I am hungry now.
