Double eh? That's pretty cool. I was only good for about 15 over in my Subaru wagon years ago. I generally keep our little Matrix at about 10 over the yellow sign. Unless I'm in a sporting mood.
Sure don't want to meet that copper in NM.

Speed limits are set for a reason.. some cops also agree wth gun ownership limits( assault rife ban) and magazine capacity limits.... Cops don't make the laws. But I get it. Politicians and "dindu nuffins" should obey the law and be punished to the full extent, or maybe even killed when they don't but old, white, upper middle class campfire members should get a pass.

I said nothing of cops making laws, I was about cops that agree with such laws.

Why would somebody hand a cop their CCL if they aren’t carrying?

speed limits may be set for safety, but they will not ever put a motor officer on my street (I asked several times). We have a lot of people doing 40 and 50 in a residential, which is dangerous. They set up either on a main street where going 50 in the 40 is not as dangerous, or on the highway where it changes from 65 to 55 and enrich the city.
My brother did get stopped once for doing 56 in the 55. That patrolman had a reputation as a prick, someone finally blew his garage door off with dynamite.

Why would somebody hand a cop their CCL if they aren’t carrying? Right? I don't understand any of it, or how it even came up in discussion.

Every once in awhile you run into a good one. It helps to live in a small town like I do...I’m on first name basis with every one of our LEO’s and judges.
The last time I got pulled over in a small town I lucked out it seemed. They usually don’t give warnings! Caught red handed, pulled over, LEO noticed an NRA Life Member sticker on my rear window of my truck. Asks if I’m carrying, to which I answer yes. “Whatchagot?” was his follow up question. I told him it was an Ed Brown Special Forces 45. He smiled and flipped out at the same time, asking me if I’d show it to him. “Man.....I’ve always wanted one of those...that’s why I asked you”. I pulled it out, unloaded it, handed it to him opened up. “Wow...that thing is sweet sir...I’m saving my money right now for one. Thanks for letting me see it...it’s a beauty!” After fondling it for a while, he hands it back to me he said “Oh, sir. Please slow down ok?” “I’ll be glad to and thanks”
You only live once, but...if you do it right, once is enough.

First time ever somebody today noticed I was carrying...she was a pretty high society type, but handled the concept well and referred to it as a "weapon"..so I figured she was OK Sorry, Poobs. Many women have have commented on my weapon. Please, talking about one’s love life on a public forum is just so gauche. I wear my gun outside my pants for all the honest world to feel.

Are 1830s clothes machine washable or do you get to wear that sour-milk menstrual smell until your pioneer parking lot carnival is over?

They're also set for safety. You'd not look kindly on someone doing 20 over right after they killed your wife, mother, child or grandchild with their irresponsible, foolish driving habits. Yeah, they probably would come back to life once I learned that the driver was indeed going the speed limit. miles

Speed limits are set for a reason. Twenty over is grossly irresposible and will likely get your license pulled, your car impounded and a free ride to see the judge around here. Which is as it should be. In San Antonio you can ask for deferred adjudication (6 mos/1 year probation then it goes away) or ask to make it go away with a defensive driving class for anything up to 25 over the limit. On I10 to El Paso the posted speed limit is 80mph. On I37 to Corpus from here the speed limit is 75, fast lane usually runs about 90, 90 plus. Been a few years since I drove to El Paso so cannot comment for sure, pretty fast IIRC. Driving across Texas at 55 'back in the day' wasn't much fun.

Why would somebody hand a cop their CCL if they aren’t carrying? C H L Instructors here advise that you should do it............ when we first got CC, the refs required it whether you were armed or not. Besides..... aren’t we supposed to be extra nice to our Public Servants?

Where are you from? I don't even want to visit there.
So you'd prefer someplace where the cops look the other way for white, middle class lawbreakers I suppose. Was that what I said? GFY You may as well have so f*ck you very much. Maybe he doesn't want to and prefers that you do it yourself.

They're also set for safety. You can tell how much the Government cares about our safety by the way they protect our Southern border. The locals want money. As does the Feds. miles

As long as I'm the white, middle class lawbreaker, I'm good with that.

Are those "suggestion" signs yellow or white? If yellow, NM is way off base compared to every other state I've driven in.
35 years ago I found myself driving in Kentucky, and I was used to ignoring to some extent the yellow curve speed signs. I started going into curves slightly over the sign, and thought I wasn't going to make it out the other side. Those signs were serious and maybe should have been lower.
