What tastes good tastes good no matter where it’s from.
Never been partial to fish out of a can or jar.
Could eat my weight in fried taters, beans and eggs though anytime.
Charlie that delicable pot of beans you cooked up is called Frijoles Charros, literally gaudy cowboy beans. That’s a state of Jalisco original dish. Multitude of delicatable variations almost all with some type of meat usually chorizo, bacon and or ham.

24 ounce rib steak....medium rare.
Baked potato and salad with blue cheese.
Several short Jack ditches.
Wife had prime rib. Kids had fancy mac and cheese.
Shared a relish dish and a shrimp cocktail.
Store bought dinner you know.

Actually, any whiskey and water is called a ditch.
Lord ditch, BV ditch, Crown Ditch, Beam Ditch....so on.
Apparently its a Northern Montana thing!

12 oz. medium ribeye tonight with baked tator and salad. Wife had a ribs.

Just took the red beans and rice off the stove after 6 hours. Gotta cook rice in the AM. Will post a pic.

BTW, after 4 hours the broth was amazing but at the end it had gained a little salt to it.

Lots of restraint over the years.
We some time get deer meat processed into summer sausage there as well.
It’s actually on the same country highway leading out of the valley to our long time deer hunting spots a few hours up into the mountains.

Thats great. Lots of places around here wont process wild game if they are a "commercial" outfit.
I might have to make a trip to the big Hereford steer someday.
There are so many friends and family I need to visit in California it aint even funny!
