Just a hop skip and a jump from the Bay Area.

Wouldn’t doubt if some of them have made the trip to Lockford themselves or had one of their renowned Dakota brats from a local festival.

If you ever do decide to make it out this way give me a holler. Be glad to meet over a beer and meal my treat.

I’m sure other Fire Members out here would be up for a get together.

OK, new menu... I'm adding some bean salad of sorts.

Green beans, cannellini beans, corn, green onions, green chili's, jalapeño, celery, and some homemade vinegar and oil dressing. Right before serving myself, I think i'll dice up so avocado to add to the mixture.

Daughter works in the bakery deli of locally owned grocery store while off the summer from college.

She came home with fresh made deli sandwiches with mortadella, pastrami, salami, jack cheese on Dutch crunch bread. And some red potato, bacon and blue cheese salad.

You on a diet Jim? Or a hunger strike till the rains come.

Olive oil and Montreal Steak seasoning then let them sit at room temp for an hour before grilling till just heated thru and good char marks on each side. Gotta get them great tasting cancer causing blackened grill marks.

That’s the oldest daughters thumbs up to the meal and the JD Pink Leamonade.

It fits the "alcopop" category, like those hard lemonades and such.

Those days are long over for me.

At 13 a friend stole a bottle of his Dads JD and us getting a little sloshed with some buddy’s as a teen then riding our bikes to go see the Blues Brothers Movie opening weekend.

Me?

I like it out of a saucer, or a wine glass, or a pail, or a cupped hand or even right out of the bottle.

I drank a whole bottle one night at a wine tasting. Using one of the supplied wine glasses of course.

I was not into wine in those days.

Some gal walked up and asked what sort of wine I was drinking?

I gave her a sip and she got sick.

I never got invited back.
