I've been surfing a bunch today looking at what's being made in 6.5 Creed, and I came across the Mossberg MVP Light Chassis. Weighs in at 7.75#. I've never fired nor held a bolt action in a chassis, but it sounds like accuracy is improved typically. I was thinking to look for a sub 6# rifle in a traditional stock configuration, but I don't know if a light chassis would be worth the weight?

Are these for prone supported shooting only or do they work as well in offhand? Appreciate any input. It seems to me like an attempt to bring the bolt action into the AR world, which I suppose is okay if it works well. Does it?
