That Browning that comes in 300 H&H has a 24" barrel. I think you are just fine with your project though, and you will have a good time playing around with it, getting it ready and will have some of "you" invested in it! ha I'm funny that way...:) The 30/338WM mentioned will certainly work just swell too! Neck down 338WM or neck up 7mm Rem Mag! Your gunsmith will know if his 300 H&H reamer will clean up the '06 shoulder area, go with his suggestion. have a ball pard!
