Been looking for a safe to keep my handgun in for all the typical reasons. I would like it to be reliable and fast to access and fit on top of a nightstand.
What do y'all recommend?
Thanks!

I've got a two gun version of this one IN my nightstand: Nightstand gun safeYou set up a four digit code that you press in and it opens right up. If the batteries fail you can open it with a key. Just change the batteries annually and you're good to go.

We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

Harbor Freight has perfectly serviceable little safes at very reasonable prices. They aren't going to stop a determined thief, but they will keep curious little hands out of trouble.
Throw a table cloth on top of it, so the whole thing looks like a night stand. Odds are, a bad guy won't recognize it for what it is.
Yes, just pop the door open as you go to bed and close it when you roll out in the morning.
Be not weary in well doing.

Check out the FAS1 Safes. 3/16" plate steel for body and door, simplex manual 5 button lock w/ optional key lockout. A friend has one, very impressed with the quality. If I ever need a handgun safe, my first and only choice.

I use a GunVault two gun model by my bed. It has a simple keypad that is easy to use by feel in the dark. The one gun models are fine too.

An unemployed Jester, is nobody's Fool.
the only real difference between a good tracker and a bad tracker, is observation. all the same data is present for both. The rest, is understanding what you're seeing.

aggravates me that folks have to think this way.
We have no use for a night stand safe. But it is what it is.

I’ve got one made by Sentry. It’s worked well for the 5 or 6 years. Holds a Kahr CM9 and a Browning Hi-power. Has a 5 button push button lock that’s backlit. But over the last few months the shock that raises the lid automatically has played out.
