Group of folks were talking about this the other day.... something I don't think anyone thinks about much as for many of us it was so long ago...

But what did you weigh when you graduated High School?

and compared to that now?

I graduated High School in 1970 and weighed 200 lbs..

I turned 66 y/o this past week... and now weigh 207 lbs as of this morning...

I was surprised on how many friends were talking about the subject and weigh like 250 lbs now..
and graduated high school at 125 lbs for one friend and 150 lbs for another friend...

How much change in weight have other campfire members experienced?

Not much on my end as one can see...of course I was in a lot better physical shape in 1970 vs now.

most I've ever been up to is about 230... and on the lower end about 190....

Graduated weighing 175-180 pounds, weigh 225 now. In high school I played three sports (football, wrestling, and track where I did shot put and discus plus 300 meter hurdles and occasionally the 100 meter hurdles) plus farm work when not in school. I stopped running after graduating but continued lifting some weights for a while. I gained the most weight in the last 20 years since I met the gal I married. Before then I spent much of my time running after women and away from their boyfriends!

I came out of HS at 147. I came out of Marine Corps Boot Camp at the exact same weight, 147. (I was told that was extremely rare)

1 year later as an 0331 (Infantry Machine gunner) I was at 228 and had a 29 inch waist. I looked like the poster child for the USMC. Slim waist very thick legs, and arms and chest that looked like a cartoon character . My new C.O. looked at me when I got transferred into the Recon Battalion and said "oh look, someone shaved a gorilla".

Today I weight 192 and I would like to be at about 180.

Graduated in 1973, at 127 pounds. I've been as low as 113, due to anxiety problems. Took up weightlifting, pretty seriously. 180.8, right now. I've been as high as 193. That was really too much, at 5"3". Couldn't maintain it, but did bench press 700 with a bench shirt. Around 500 now, with a shirt at 63 years old, and 180. Not all that fat.

128 then vs 160 now. I could stand to lose 20. Think High school ended about "64"
