I'm really glad you reminded me of that stock option. I have a 75 Finnlight 270 that I've never really liked. It has always just shot so so right around 1 MOA. I've often considered changing it into something else, and that stock would be perfect.

Haha ya, right?

It's 5lb 6oz close enough for me haha. A guy could still lose an inch of barrel, flute the bolt body, drill handle etc. Also believe it or not the paint job added a few oz . You could leave it bare and save there too .

I as thinking a Proof Research barrel on my 75 would be sweet with that stock ,but I'm still handicapped by the long action.

A 6.5-284 would be a slick little setup on a LA. Light recoiling long range capable. You could also use a SA caliber and use the real estate to seat bullets wayyy out. Get a Smith to chop and rechamber to 270wsm? Idk... lots of options hahaha. It's all just $$$ and time.

Personally I'd take a Sako over a Montana any day.....jmo

I'd like to take a better look at the top of the receiver to see how the light weights look

It is, but I was only teasing since 99 out of 100 rednecks surveyed locally, will say Seiko.

It is an MPI Microlight carbon/Kevlar

** just an update, I have had it back and forth to the range with a couple different scope combinations to see what I am diggin. Right now I am shooting 208 ELD's @ 2500 into an honest .5-.75 moa for groups. I am gonna try and stretch it out this next set of days off I get.

Mike.

Word. I've had 3 of each, and still have the 85s. Though, to be fair, all of my Kimbers were fine rifles too and I never experienced "Kimber Roulette."

Good groups with the 208s considering the 11" twist.

It would be interesting to see if it holds that MOA at say 200 and 300.

I like the front sling stud position. No smacked knuckles.
