mine is a “newer” one with an MIM hammer. anyhoo, it works like clockwork it just has a lot of takeup in the trigger and a heavy pull. the ergos are just fantastic, though, IMO. sights arent my favorite and accuracy is a little helter skelter, prolly due more so to the sights and trigger pull combo. any body else have one or any mods theyve done to make it just a little more precise?

Several years ago I sent mine off to Dave Clements http://www.clementscustomguns.com/bearcat.html for a trigger job and adjustable sight conversion. If you're willing to spend the money, he turns the bearcat into a sweet little kit gun. I love mine.

I just purchased a Lipsey's special order with adjustable sights. I haven't had a chance to shoot it. http://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=RUKSBCA-4Mine was unfired, but I am the second owner.

Hell, i could barely afford to buy a Bearcat much less getting it modified. I like the original version....weighs less than my key ring.

Actually, when they came out they were 49 and change and then they knocked 10 bucks off so that when I bought mine at the Army Navy store in Redding CA in 1965 I paid the 39. Wish I still had it but sold it and a Colt Woodsman Sport so I could buy a Walther PPK/s .22LR just like Skeeter wrote about in the mid 80's. Still have the Walther.

I've found that the 22 Shorts and the standard velocity 22 LR work the best for the older ones. Good luck
