As the title says, this is about being able to navigate and how important more and more accuracy in timekeeping made today's navigation possible. From truly ancient times when the Polynesians navigated across the Pacific and the Mediterranean peoples and Persians and Indians navigated all using the stars to today's satellite navigation, the history is in this book.
A very good and interesting read.

Have you read "Longitude" by Dava Sobel? Same topic, from a few years earlier, with a thorough review of Harrison, Just curious how it might stack up. I found the earlier book very good and revealing in many ways.
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

Sorry, but I haven't read that. The book reminded me of the PBS series "In Search of Longitude" from a good many years ago.
