I’m like a harlot when the cattle drives come to town. I jump from bed to bed quick like.

Dirty Rice and fried summer squash.

I used my home grown sausage for the Dirty Rice. I don't know if it was the new recipe I followed this time or my sausage but it was my best batch ever......probably both.

The recipe was pretty close to what I normally do except for deglazing the pan with Worchestershire Sauce and using almost twice as much liquid as I do...it's a keeper.

As a side note while I was killing time cruising the net and looking at Dirty Rice recipes today I was surprised to see how many omit the chicken livers. I figure it's the same folks that don't put Okra in gumbo......poor confused bastards.....ya gotta feel sorry for em.

Tonight ? Plain ol' hot dogs. A little bummed as I had such high hopes for my sous vide pork loin from the other night. Took a whole pork loin and cut it into 2 ish pound hunks and into the bath @ 140 for 5 hrs. and then onto a hot charcoal grill. Instead the meat was mushy with no real texture or flavor and never made it over the coals.. All the bags in the freezer now but I'm tempted to pitch 'em all into the garbage. Suggestions ?

Gave muttly a good sized chunk tonight to gnaw on and he just didn't seem to be very impressed . That bad ?

So, Deb & I spent a 4 day long weekend, camping at Blue Lake Provincial park.

Arrived & set up Thursday night, after work, so simple fare for dinner.

Friday night was marinated & grilled sirloin "minute" steaks, pan fried new baby taters, sautéed onions & mushrooms & spinach, avocado & grape tomato salad.

Marinade was a smoky chipotle base.
