El Cheapo as it's a 700 Tac that had a $100 rebate. Bonuses were LRTSi with 30% rebate, Grayboe was on sale, and Timney on sale. Haven't been that excited to shoot it, so it's been sitting in the safe for months. Only fired 8 rounds yesterday, but seems promising. Two to get a zero, then 3-shot group clustered in upper portion of the orange, under 3/8". Let it sit, then shot 3 more, which landed in the lower portion of the orange under 3/8". Not sure about the high/low groupings as it could have been me, parallax, or random. Composite group for 6 shots was just under 7/8". To be fair, I didn't spend much time getting a good rest as I was more interested in velocity and ES from the Horny ammo. I'll post updates as I wring it out. Looks like a keeper. Question about the grayboe stock, is it fiberglass or IM? Can't seem to find it on their webpage.

Hawkins M5 bottom metal, and AM binderless 5 & 10 round magazines. Rail and rings are Seekins. Timney thin set at 1.5 pounds.

Random question - Is there a reason behind putting the front ring so far forward? Give extra strength/stability?
I usually just space as equally as a I can for pure aesthetics, but you've got me wondering if I've done it all wrong.

Generally the smaller amount of the scope out past the ring the better.

I think there's merit to spacing the rings as far as possible. I would have put the front ring one notch forward but it would have been hanging partway off the rail. A narrower ring might have fit. I like a 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s about 8 miles over to Lake Buchanan from our lease. We shoot ducks off the lake with our Creedmoor’s. Huh! I thought federal law required hunting migratory birds with shotgun only. But if you're hitting them from 8 miles away, that's impressive! 😉
