Today I finished fitting a new piece to my Colt WC 45ACP LWT Commander. At this point, I believe it finally fulfills Wiley’s description of this pistol, “Everything you need, nothing you don’t.”

The grip safety issue is now moot. No more need for raised safety pads or worries about high vs low thumb styles. Simply out of the holster, thumb safety off, and ready to use.

This one just became my favorite EDC... again!

Nice.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

I thought that grip safety thing was like, part of the whole 1911 deal?

A solution looking for a non-existent problem (at least for me).

I truly don't know how any person with normal sized hands could grip a 1911 & not compress the grip safety enough to allow the gun to fire.

YMMV
