I can buy a new Vanguard in 30-06 for $350 at a lgs. How would a Weatherby style stock work if I cut an inch or so off? This would probably be for my 5'2" daughter, and using an AR stock, a 12-12.5" lop seem about where she is comfortable in deer hunting clothes.
Would shortening work against the design to create a mule kicking beast? Was going to chop a Tikka, but couldn't find a pad small enough to fit the cut down stock. How difficult would this get on the Vanguard.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

It can be a challenge to properly fit and blend the pad when you get right up next to the monkey carlo but it will work fine. I’ve probably done at least 100 of them. Cut it off and square it up on a disk sander, glue your pad on, tape off the stock and give it hell.
