Awesome!

You've got me fired up for my trip. Love sable and roan, but not on my menu this trip.

Great job, keep the photos coming

Good looking animals. Congratulations. Andrew and crew have done a great job at Royal Kafue.

I fly camped there 2015 with Leon Kachelhoffer and had a great trip.

Looks like a great trip. I am considering Andrew for a sable/plains game hunt.

Poobah,
The Roan was tough! Last day last hours of the hunt. Had a very nice one eary in the hunt that just would not give me a shot. I even missed one do to a rangefinder error on my part. I got 231 and 235, and after a follow up to verify the roan was not hit, and after an inspection of the shot sight. It was actually 300 yards. The bullet impacted predictably low into a tree branch.

EdM,
Sable is fantastic, but check with Andrew on the other plains game you are interested in. Here is one I passed up.

Ingwe,
Just go get one!

Interesting story about the roan. I was originally just going after sable and buffalo. I never had roan on my radar. In the process of talking to a few people who had been to Royal Kafue, one told me that if roan was available I should take advantage of the opportunity. As they are extremely challenging to hunt.

So, a few weeks before the hunt, Andrew and I were discussing details, mentioned there might be a lion available. I passed, as I have zero desire to shoot a lion. I told him if leopard or roan was an option I would be in. There was no leopard, but a roan became an option, so I took it.

I am very glad I did, it certainly was challenging and very rewarding. I would have to look back through my notes to tally the number of failed stalks we had on this species.

elkhunternm,

Thank you, my wife took over 900 pictures so all credit goes to her.
