Midnight Cowboy I think he did a version of " The Girl From Ipanema "
Played harmonica Whistled and guitarist
It was Jerry "Mad Dog" Shriver (SFC E-7)who said: "No, no, I've got them right where I want them -- surrounded from the inside." http://www.macvsog.cc/1969.htm
Heck, all of those people were great, I had forgotten, if I ever knew, how versatile a harmonica is.
"...if the gentlemen of Virginia shall send us a dozen of their sons, we would take great care in their education, instruct them in all we know, and make men of them." Canasatego 1744
What is a good harmonica to start with. Always wanted to learn how to play
Sakoluvr,
This gal gives some info about Hohner harps. Hard to go wron with a Hohner and she plays them well and gives a good demonstration of them and their different tones.
She's got some other youtube videos with her actually playing songs, not just demonstrating harmonicas. The gal can play some.

Everyone has come up with some really great players. Who's best? I can't answer that one, there's too many great ones. Like this fella. Really nice tones at the 2:17 mark.
And one he's certainly "famous" for, in harp circles at least:

If you're a harp and blues fan you may want to pick up some of Robert Lucas' music. I saw this version of the band in a little dive bar in a college town in NorCal almost thirty years ago. I'll never forget it. He fronted for Canned Heat when they got back together too:
Ever been broke? You better relate to this one:
Those of us of a certain girth will relate to this one. Have to wait a bit for his harp playing though.

Sako,my kids got me a Hohner Special 20 in C to start with. I think it was just over $40,so not a lot of money and you can carry one anywhere. I've been playing with this one only a couple days, but I always wanted to learn to play one because it's so easy to take camping or anywhere.
