I am looking for a scope for a 300 Win Mag hunting rifle that I am trying mot keep relatively light, and have come down to the Leupold VX-5 HD or Vortex Razor HD LH, both in 3-15x. I can get the Vortex for $659, and have found the Leupold for $850. Considering all things (including price, although $190 won't impact my daily life), which do you think is the better choice? I'll be using this for elk in open country in Wyoming, so may reach out a bit.

Not on your list , but check out the Meopta 4.5-14. Picked one up from Doug with Mcwhorter reticle for an elk rifle too

Leupold VX-5HD

I went with the Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44 Firedot on all three of my main big game rifles including the 300 WM elk gun.

Do you adjust your turret for elevation changes at different ranges while hunting?
