Tried so many. Gels, cheap foams, the old fashioned brush and bars. NOTHING works like Cremo! Small dab on the finger tip. Closest most comfortable shave ever and it really does last for 3 months. Oh and as far as that goes. Been using Gillette razors for years. Like the light weight maneuverability but recently tried a comparable 3 blade Schick. It feels blocky BUT seems to be a way better blade than the Gillette. Closer shaves with fewer passes for the Schick. AMAZING stuff this:

Take the guard off your beard trimmer to rough shave after the shower when whiskers are soft, I use cheap razors and bar soap to finish.

At home, I use either a gel (Edge) or a foam (Barbasol) and a Gillette Mach 3. I only shave twice a week and have a soft beard, so a can of cream lasts me a year, and I get a month to six weeks on a blade. For travel, though, I wanted to avoid pressurized cans. Discovered Shave Secret Shaving Oil. Tiny bottle - and five drops is all you need. Gives a very close, very comfortable shave, and no need for an aftershave. It not only lubes your skin but is based on clove oil so it smells great. Magic stuff. LINK WalMart carries it for less.

I need a solution for hacking off one week's heavy growth while on the road ? It overwhelms my standard Schick Extreme 3 with soap in shower routine.

Since my beard went gray, it's like 8 lb test monofilament. The only way for me to get a close shave is to do it in the shower,...and it still takes a lot of time. I usually soap it down and go over it twice.

Never understood why people people feel the need to buy shaving cream? A small amount of cheap hair conditioner and a hot shower does the same thing..as far shaving longer hair just shave with the hair first and against on your second run.

Edge and an old Track II I’ve had for decades. The handle broke years ago, I repaired it with some super glue and it’s still going strong. It’s getting harder to find the blades though.

WTF is shaving?
I think I beat Wayne Shaw, haven't shaved since 1980 .
The way my bead used to grow, I may as well have pissed against the wind. Shaving 2x a day if I worked and had a date later got really old by time I was out of high school. Kept at it for a few more years and said f' it. Never going into the banking business so who cares.

Ed, get some Shave Secret at Wallie's place. I think you'll like it, also.
Two things about it, though...Do wash your face with hot water first (or shower). And do clean the hair and oil out of your razor often. Like every other stroke often. If you let it clog up, it stops shaving well.

When I was checking out Cremo on Amazon, I saw this 12 pack of Gillette Fusion blades at over half off: Retail $48, on sale for $23.61. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004B8AZH0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
