And their ice cream? It’s all we buy.

The cheese is about the best for the basic cheddar and Monterey Jack. We buy cheese from Costco and there are some incredible cheeses available from around the world that I never have bought 20+ years ago because of the pricing. Costco’s purchasing power has made an incredible amount of those cheeses a better value at least occasionally.

I'm pretty much a sharp cheddar and crackers (or grits) guy although I do like their pepper jack too.
I buy fancy cheese at the deli once in a while if a recipe calls for it but other than that I'm not much of a cheese connoisseur.
I do know that Tilamook's extra sharp cheddar is the best cheddar I've ever had though.

And while I haven't eaten ice cream in over a decade.....yes.....theirs is great.

A black label man myself as well.

Red or Black for me.

I like black but the kids and wife like the red.





The other night...Friday I think.

I was too hung over yesterday to run a computer.

Bean and Bacon soup with some Sour Dough bread and a Pabst.

That soup looks damn good and is a favorite. We had stuffed zucchini yesterday and will have the leftovers tonight.

Chicken, and corn on the grill, tomato to.

Hot dogs and pork loin chops cooked simply on long metal forks over the fire.


Use some Johnny's season on the chops and eat them with our fingers.

Hey FieldGrade, can we get a recipe on that bean and bacon soup? Looks delicious!

Sure....I like lots of veggies so I double up on what the recipe calls for and it goes without saying that I ignore the part about dumping out the bacon grease. Cook the bacon and then saute the veggies in the bacon grease..

I also like mine with a splash of hot sauce but to each his own.

I had ham sandwich's and mustard potato salad tonight. Been on a BBQ kick for about the last week and my vinegar sauce has gotten a lot of mileage and the smoker has never cooled down. The sweet corn and green beans fresh from the garden are done. Tuesday's supper is BLT's then I go back to China for a while where a fat white boy can't get good grub

You fellows dine with flair! A buttermilk biscuit for me.

Lamb and beef gyro, falafel, dolmas and garlic fries.
