I have made 300 Savage brass from 308
You will need a case guage and trimmer
Also check the neck wall thickness

Inasmuch as I have a pair of .308WCF rifles, I regard using .308 cases for .making .300SAV to be potentially hazardous, epecially since .300 SAV will chamber in at least some 7.52x51 chambers..
