I picked up one from someone in the lower 48 last year , dropped it in an old canoe paddle stock, added one of the Ruger peep sights and find it a pretty handy everyday carrying rifle.

The older 338 rcm, 375 ruger, and 416 ruger were what I consider some of the most common sense, usable new cartridge/rifle combinations I've ever seen put together for Alaskan hunting. Those nice open sights!
Before all that silly business they added.

The 375 and 416 Ruger cartridges are a couple of my favorites.

You're a braver man than I, Phil. I had a boat paddle 338 that I named "The Guillotine". The big Ruger rounds are excellent, IMO. If H&H were developing a 375 today I bet it would be a twin of the 375 Rooooger. A shorter and fast handling 416 is about perfect for a guide's gun up North or even in Africa.
