Looks to have some Indonesian styling influence.
I like the old VX1 Shotgun 1-4x20 better if only for the looks. But it’s also lighter and I suspect is a higher quality.

I haven't actually used any of the VX Freedom scopes. But Leupold dropped both the VX-1 and VX2 and replaced them both with the VX Freedom. It is supposed to be closer to VX2 in quality. I have a couple of the VX1, 1-4X20's on AR's. They work just fine for me and the VX Freedom is supposed to be better.

I bought one of their new VX Freedom models in the 4x12 version. I’ve very impressed with the quality and clarity of the lens so far. We will see how it holds up after a couple of hunting seasons.

I got one and mounted it on a Remington 700 Classic chambered for the .35 Whelen. So far, so good, after a couple hundred rounds, mostly 250 gr jacketed and a number of 300 gr cast. I'd put it on a par with the VX3 1.5-5X but wish it could be had with a heavy duplex reticle.

I might have to try one with the pig plex. Wanted another VX1 Shotgun with the 75 yard parallax and turkey plex since I like mine with the heavy duplex so well, but apparently none left to buy.

I bought one for coyote hunting on one of my combo guns, I have a VariX-!! 1-4, Vx-2 1-4, a Vx-1 1-4 shotgun on various combos and drillings and the Freedom is one of the best ones so far.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

The Freedom series are priced below the quality level that they offer. A nice affordable priced product line

I’d put one on a lever gun or other woods type rifle. I like the pig plex reticle myself.

The pics make them look tacti-ugly. I will say, they look better in person.

It looks a lot like the Mark AR Mod 1 I just bought.

So if the Freedom line replaces the VX-2, probably pretty good. DF

Hopefully they will have more reticle options available soon. I’d consider one with a HEAVY PLEX although the newer PIG PLEX looks good too.

Looks like a lot of scope for the price, as Doug noted.
Just waiting for posts claiming the price is now less because they buying more Chicom innards...
Just wait...

My issue is they look a bit "big and clunky" in the power adjustment ring and turret housing. I like one-piece rails and low mounted scopes, so I'm wondering if that turret housing is going to give me clearance issues?

I'd want a heavier reticle. DF

I run Leupold Super Low rings on one piece bases, either Redfield style (which I really don't like) or QR (not QRW.) With the Leupold scopes up to these new Freedom scopes, the turret housing sometimes just barely cleared or just barely touched. I usually planned on machining a bit of relief. I think these Freedom scopes may absolutely require a trip to the milling machine.
However, I am considering switch to ugly ol' Weavers. They are a touch higher (using the Weaver one piece base and the lowest rings), but I trust them more.

Bushmaster,
Thought I'd weigh in a little. It sounds like you might be concerned about recoil, but rest assured all Leupold riflescopes undergo the same rigorous testing and development for impact. That Freedom will preform well on any beast of a rifle you could imagine dropping it on. Hope this helps!

I like EVERYTHING about the Freedom scope 1.5-4x. The Only damn thing wrong with the Freedom is it don’t come with a Bikini cover. Maybe Leupold will feel sorry for a poor retired GI like me and send one to me for free since it weren’t in da box. Some folk like to bitch and complain about anything without even using a product. This 444 kicks pretty good, even broke one of my crowns. I Wouldn’t even buy an older Leupold used if it were anywhere close to the price of a Freedom, its just a superior scope in EVERY way. Even when the likes of Whortex optics has been in business for 100 years, Leupold will still have 100 years on them.
