My word is my bond. I'll never break it. You bet! It's a shame there are so few honest men in this world. That's what I expected to hear here. It's also what I expected yesterday and thought about for the 300 mile drive it took to return from a probable used car sale. I had agreed to drive down to have a look, had informed the fellow of my arrival time 2-3 hours ahead off arrival, and was informed about 15 minutes before i got there that he had just sold the car: "Hope your [sic] not on your way out! It was a cash deal, couldn't refuse!" Seems awfully easy these days with the anonymity of electronic communications.

I missed making a sale like that once. First guy said he was on his way.....so I waited as I said I would. Second guy with cash in hand left. First guy never showed.
I keep my word even to my own hurt.

Went to look at another vehicle, locally this time, on Tuesday evening. Was a few minutes early even for the agreed on 8:15 appointment. (My 'pathetic' upbringing taught me to keep my word, be on time, etc.). Car is sitting in the driveway, guy comes out, "Oh, we just sold it 5 minutes ago."
WTF? Doesn't anyone know how to communicate anymore? Don't play games. Just be straight up.

I don't often sell things but the last few times I have someone will call and tell me they will be by in an hour or after work or maybe the next day at a certain time and they never show. Why do people do that? Please just tell me that you're not interested and I'm good with that and not wasting my time waiting for a no-show. SO frustrating!
