Found one[used, 2016] for $600 OTD. 357/.38, 20" octagon barrel, that brass receiver and all. Super clean. Can't wait to pick it up and take it to the range. This is simply going to be a plinker. A fun gun. Mostly .38's.Picture's when I get it.

Consider using lightly loaded 357. It might work better in the long run.
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Agreed. Been learning some loading things as I go along here. Seems the .357 cases feed much easier than the .38 cases. I can work with that.

I'm thinking 5.0gr Unique under 158gr RNFP's in .357 cases ought to be fine. Find out soon enough. Bullets are Missouri Hi-Tek.

Range work went well. The .38/158gr loads worked great. Fed liked I'd hoped, shot fine, ejected fine. 357's shot lights out. Factory[for now], American Eagle 158 JSP. No recoil at all. This rifle is such a pleasure to shoot. And accurate. If I have to adjust anything, I'll raise it, maybe an 1". Maybe. Should have bought one of these years ago. Now, I have my sights on a Marlin in .45 Colt. Or, another Henry.

My daughter calls those swirls on the stock "birthmarks".
Sure is pretty. Nice piece of walnut.
