I shot one a few months ago. Was pretty slick, 6.5 lazer beam.

I would like to try one too, but I have a 26 Nosler. Not too much difference.

Mine will be ready in a couple weeks...

I sure like mine. They are finicky and high maintenance. If you don’t like to tinker, don’t bother with one. Very touchy cartridge that fouls like a mother. I only get 20 shots with monos before the fouling shifts the zero. Only about 10 shots with 143 ELDx’s. If you like something more boring, get a .264 Win Mag. The results I’ve gotten have been consistent but it took quite a bit of work to get my rifle sub MOA. I have the Vanguard Wilderness model with the lighter barrel. If you like absolute, unadulterated and unapologetic, in your face performance in the hunting woods, they are hard to beat. That said, I don’t fully recommend them to anybody. They aren’t for the faint of heart. I bought an 8 lb jug of US869 when I bought the rifle. When it’s used up the gun will probably need a new barrel.

I’ve only killed one animal with mine so far with 127 Barnes LRX. It was a true giant of a black bear at 130 yards and it hit hard and had some awesome penetration. I love mine but that love came at a price.

It really is easier to hit bullseyes at distance when there is so much performance in the package.

Good luck!

Todd, I’m liking you Wilderness with the flutes. What’s the recoil like with that high comb stock? You’re guessing around 600 rounds and a new barrel, eh? 😎

I really like the Wilderness. It is a light weight rifle and doesn’t quite weigh 8 lbs with the scope and Talley lightweight mounts. I really like the trigger.

Recoil is there. Every bit of what a 7 Mag would be. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if I get 800-1000 shots out of my rifle the way I shoot it, but even if it is only 600 shots, that is decades worth of hunting. This definitely isn’t a rifle I’m going to be shooting a bunch. That 5 shot, 600 yard group I shot took me 45 minutes to an hour to shoot.

"The Real Gunsmith" on his YouTube channel says he starts getting fliers at about the 300 round mark with the 6.5/300.

I ordered the LW yesterday. It is for my wife so round count should not be a concern. And it will be factory ammo only I assume with her.

You might give Hammer bullets a try. They may not foul as badly. You might even pick up some velocity with their 124 grainer.
