Good call. My amazingly spry 83-yo stepdad told me decades ago that sugar is poisonous. He was ahead of the curve.... he still moves like a much younger person.

Well, me doing toes to the bar may be worth more than just a giggle. The workout wants 10. I have yet to get past 5 and like Smoke many are looking. However....

6 mile hike in the Drift Creek Wilderness (Coast Range). 1500 ft elevation gain. The Mrs. is in great aerobic shape from being at high altitude for so long so we pushed the pace.

another 7.5 mile loop for Tiny E and I, this loop was a little “taller”- few tiptoe stretches

with the cooler weather from Canada, comes smoke from Canada- oh well, at least it’s cool- Tiny Elvis doesn’t seem to mind the smoke

5-mile walk. Trying to use my hands as little as possible during this down time, hence no rides yet.

went to the gym yesterday evening
deadlifts 5/5/5+
bench 5/5/5+
lunges 3x50 yards
chin-ups 3x12
core

we’ve really cooled down (high of 59 today) and even getting a little precip, if it’s not pouring will get out with Tiny E after work

Loaded up the pack yesterday for a trial run. That thing is heavy.

I am leaving on Sunday for a 12 day backpack hunt in the NWT.

Should I keep working out until I leave or is it wise to rest these last few days so I am fresh? Figure I am not going to change anything between now and then except maybe injury or being sore?

I always taper off the week before a hunt. Maybe some cardio but nothing that makes me grunt.
