The Real Hawkeye {Interesting. So those who are getting these guns with these stocks might inadvertently be getting some rare collectable stocks. }
Yes and no. Not everyone is familiar with the Trausch name. The ones that are, don't necessarily know all the models of guns he built them for. The gun that is most often used with those grips are the SP101. Still he has been dead 6 years. People familiar with them will step up, just not every one is. They aren't easy to come by. I have a set on the classifieds now and I'm surprised they didn't sell quickly. Actually SHOCKED they didn't. People that are familiar with them really like them for how hand filling they are and how much control they give with recoil. While the Ruger SP101 is heavy for it's size, truth is most people shoot 38 specials in them. The ones that shoot 357 mag in them really like the grips.

Cariboujack, thanks for the info on the stocks! Yes Trausch is the name right on the stocks & although they are a bit on the ugly side they are a very comfortable grip, I'm impressed with them. Shot a bunch of ammo through the gun today & it shoots really good, just shooting everything low because I was trying to shoot 125 HP's. So, I'm going to try some of my 140 gr slugs & see how much higher they shoot, if that doesn't work I'll go to a bit heavier slug until I find the sweet spot. Don't want to file on the sight just yet, there isn't a lot there to begin with.

The serial number should be on the bottom of the trip frame. The numbers inside the yoke cutout are assembly numbers.

How much was not a too bad price?
$450-550. Don't remember exact price, as I wasn't looking for a tapered barrel, although the stainless finish caused me to give it a second thought. Would really like to find a 10-5 bull barrel like Charlie's. Difficult to find Remembered where I'd seen the.Model 64. The price was $425, with box. Not a bad price, indeed.

The difficult to find comment was concerning a 10-5 with a heavy barrel. I thought Charlie's was a 10-8 also.
The 10-6 was made at the same time as the 10-5 and is what you find with the heavy barrel. I've never seen a 10-5 with a heavy barrel outside the internet.

I stand corrected. Looks like Charlie's is a 10-8, from a pic he posted with his K22.

Bud's sent me one that looks very similar in condition to Idaho1945's, and is also a 10-8 model.
It shoots extremely tight groups with 158's and 130's out to 20 yards.
POI is a touch low. I'll get that corrected with a file.
The Trausch grips are very comfortable. I can definitely see how for they would be beneficial to law enforcement. But I just can't get past the fugly factor.
