I know I am a FNG but I just want to say if ya think something is not right,go get checked out and dont take "you will be fine" as a answer. We went 9 times to our GP and you will be fine is the answer we got. Any way long story short I lost the love of my life after 31 1/2 years on Aug the 13 th. we were together almost 34 yrs. Kim passed from stomach cancer at 56. Its not how it was supposed to go down, I have had 2 heart attacks/one at work as a leo/ and 11 stints after. The only good thing I can find is that Kim dont hurt no more. Sorry to bring gloom but it some how makes me feel better to talk about it. Sorry for the bummer post. Tommy

Sorry to hear of your loss, Tommy. One wonders how many like you folks have heard the same from docs only to discover the worst was there all along. BTW, no one here will think you’re whining in the least. Yours is a warning for us all.

And condolences.

Prayers sent from here, also.
Cancer is BAD news. "The Warden" has had 2 go-rounds with cancer - I've still got her - and thankful for it!
God bless the folks on the front lines fighting this scourge, and those who've lost family or friends to it!
Also, may God bless all who are currently dealing with cancer.

So very sorry to hear this sir
my GP isn't competent enough to even see me for a sniffle or sore throat. He will admit that straight up. (Because im a transplant patient)
I only utilize him for paperwork, records catelogging and referrals. He is pretty much useless. I spend my time at his appointments only updating him on what the specialists are doing currently for me.
And for some prescription refills.

On a side note to my post above, get lots of notes,What meds the hosp or Dr gives them,What meds ya give them ect, cause if or when it goes south ya need it to give to the Drs.Write it down on a folded piece of printer paper and put it in your wallet, it dont take up much space. But when ya have to go to the Hosp and ya messed up as a soup sandwich, Ya will have what ya need when ya need it.

I have pictures on my phone of my 2 page medication list. Keep a tabular list too in my notes app. That's if I'm zonked outta my head (its happened) Otherwise I can rattle off the names and dosages of my list from memory. I show em the pictures in case they don't believe. Most nurses have never heard of some of the shlt I'm on. lol I'm on 17 diff meds And NO , I don't crap in a bucket or have voices in my head

Tommy, sorry for your loss. You're right, cancer sucks. My wife lost her sister in less than 6 weeks from the time she started showing symptoms. Cancer destroyed her before it killed her. My wife still has trouble talking about it. My wife has her own life threatening illnesses. Lots of appointments, and lots of meds. I spend more on healthcare than mortgage. She has everything typed up in a 3ring binder showing every med, schedule and dose. Same thing in memory stick form for computer upload. (When she is in need of medical treatment, she may not be able to speak.) Lots of folks here ask for prayers, guidance, or just someone to listen. No one will think less of you for it, so don't worry about it. You can also do private messages if there is someone you wish to share with, or info not suitable (private/personal) for the open forums. You are not alone here.

I'm so terribly sad for your loss, Tommy. Can't imagine the suffering that you are going through.
Cancer does, indeed, suck.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of your wife. I remember you telling us about her some weeks ago. Prayers sent then and now.
You are not alone on the 'fire. There are those who have lost their wives to this hideous disease and those whose wives are currently battling it, including mine. PM me if you feel like talking and I'm sure you can PM any of the aforementioned guys. Good people here. It's okay to reach out. It helped me a great deal.
Godspeed
