I've been on a boat paddle kick and recently added a 223 all weather to my collection. Had planned on reaming it out to an ackley but the magazine is so short with the spacer in it that I can't run my normal 223ai loads. Has anyone replaced the magazine components with standard short action parts and if so,did you have to change anything else? Did it feed okay?
Thanks!

I got a standard short action box for my .223 Hawkeye but no joy on feeding. Much different feed lips. My next step will be to either remove the spacer or go to acis type bottom metal. Haven't made up my mind which to do.
