The round barrel models are asking about their bastard brother. Am not finding one with condition. If you have one you're not in love with, let me know. I've got duplicates of some models, I might trade or can purchase outright. How about a 1950's 99F in 250-3000? I've got 3. LOL.

Welp, you are fish'in in the right pond.
While there are likely a good amount of fish in the pond, I'd have to consider a 1899B with condition a lunker.
Not many of 'em around and hard to catch.
Or were ya inquiring about a 75th Anniversary model in .308? laugh

Good analogy! What would the anniversary catch be worth? Just bragging rights, I guess, and it would keep getting prettier each time you told the story!

Roy, if I understand you, you have round barrel .30-30's, no? Just convert one to octagon. I have a file you can borrow.

I did mean the whole rifle, not just the barrel btw. Yeah, they're not real plentiful with any kind of condition, but they're around. There's one on GB right now iirc.

Ya never know, someone may have been thinking of letting one go, or looking for a worthy 99F in 250 so it might just be the ticket for both parties.

The Anniversary model is quality rifle rotary mag and all.
Purists sometimes scoff because it's not a Savage caliber. Oh well...

NIB with papers around 800-1000. (Not on GB).

I have one in 90% plus condition but I have no interest in parting ways with it. It is the only one I have run across in the last 20 years.

Never seen one in 30-30. Though, I do remember seeing one in 30 WCF once.

Hope you find a nice one. I picked up this 1904 grey rat 30-30 with forearm repair just because it was the only one I had seen in person.

There was an idiot peddling a really clean one by me last year for $2500. I told him the barrel was cut back because half of the one 30 was into the reciever ring. I think it measured 25 3/8 if i remember correctly. He told me i was nuts because granddad bought it new. I told everyone i saw looking at he was a con artist. After a few shows of me pissing him off it disappeared.

Ah, Roy. Don't give up so soon. Two days is no time for a search. Did Arthur, King of the Britons ("That's no horse. You're hitting two coconuts together.") give up searching for the Holy Grail after two days? Did Ahab cut short his quest for The Great White Whale? Did Oldotter quit searching for a liver donor in order to party with some Savage nuts? No, no, and no (well, maybe).

Besides, egg sucking is against the law in all 48 states, plus the Hawaii and Alaska Territories.

I haven't given up, just temporarily looked up from my egg sucking. I don't want to sell a 99F 250-3000 w/o trading, that would be a net loss.

Roy, just to make you feel better, I passed on an 1899B 30-30 last year for $700. My buddy told me it was in his local pawn shop. I hurried over, walked in, and gasped. That thing was NICE, and for $700! I asked if I could hold it? He handed it to me, and when I wrapped my fingers around the stock, they were met by something quite strange, kind of like checkering, but big. He told me the story that came with the rifle was the original owner left it leaning on the side of his Model T, and pulled off and ran over it, with snow chains on. The deep snow kept it from snapping the stock in half, and the chains made the extra large checkering. Made it easy to hold on to.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.
