trying to locate in a lgs, or in a barn, or back closet a single shot stevens bolt-action shotgun. model 237. made in the 30's & early 40's.

original, doesn't have to be mint, but not modified, cut or chopped. these of course have no safety switch or serial number.

i think hardwood stock like birch. a few might have been walnut.

shoot me a contact and i'll get right on it.

we all know there must be one out there. but, where oh where?

i've got a thread on the shotgun forum asking for specifics between a model 237 and another model.

i've specifically seeking a model 237 stevens bolt-action shotgun.

they're out there, and somebody might stumble over one while looking for something else.

please call off the dogs guys. the objective has been reached.

so appreciate the efforts, the checking out the shelves of used guns in the lgs.

the eye out at the gun shows, and other mouth to mouth contacts with the neighbors.

i have an original gun, stevens mdl 37 ss bolt action shotgun in 20 guage. not a ranger.

the rangers were the same gun but the model was stamped on the j higgins special run guns.

no serial number, no safety. has a bead on the barrel. a metal butt plate all original. the gun is tight.

so, bring the plott hounds home, feed them, and provide them some good shelter. no more hunting for this beast.
