Ordered a Leupold Big Bore 3x with German #4 reticle from the Leup Custom Shop back in January. It arrived, all looked great. Mounted scope, sighted in, no problems. I put the rifle away until we got closer to hunting season.

When I pulled the gun out this weekend to take a look through the scope again, it was VERY different! There is what appears to be dust or lint particles all over the reticle posts. It was not like this when I got it back in January, all was normal clean reticle like you'd expect to see..... how does that happen?!? Sort of difficult trying to get a picture of the reticle, but I gave it a try.

I had a Leupold 1.5-5 do something similar, sent it back, they fixed it, then it did it again. Sent it in again and came back fixed with a letter saying the front ring cannot be within 1” of the objective lense. Not sure how you mount one on a magnum action without the front ring being within an inch???

On mine you could see it on the edges as well.
