That's somebody's nice little custom job, but out of my price range.

Kinda like it, but not $2500 like it. Someone did a nice job building a custom G. The flimsy new generation tang sight and the Weaver mounts would have to go, for me anyway, among other minor issues.

To me, "fancy" and "gun" just don't sit well together. I like "well-maintained," "original," and "the modifications don't alter the original." That was a great gun without the modifications.

If I was going to spend $2500 on a Savage, it would not be on this one.

Take of the new peep and just put a good ol' Leupold on it.

Kind of reminds me of some of the custom guns Mark brought to the first Savage-fest. These guns were not what I was used to seeing but after looking at them for a bit these guns grew on you.

The Pig Gun would be an excellent example of that genre of rifles - they inevitably were REAL lookers and in your hands they rose another tier on the KOOL scale.

The Pig rifle FAR outclasses this one.

Wonder how many here know meaning of MEH? Fairly new word in American English. Useful word.

meh

informal
exclamation
1.
expressing a lack of interest or enthusiasm.
"Meh. I'm not impressed so far"
adjective
1.
uninspiring; unexceptional.
"a lot of his movies are … meh"

That rifle has some nice workmanship but I just don' like the light colored stocks unless we're talking streaked Claro.

I love maple caskets, tables and floors

Guns stocks are made of walnut.

I have a Savage/Stevens 16 gauge single with a pretty Maple stock. I stripped and refinished it when I was 12.

It’s a nice rifle. Really nice.
