I like that Jim! A couple of my grandkids have “helped” me before too. Good to nurture their interest.

That little rancher needs a .44!
He was born for it.
Elmer would be proud.

Thanks again guys.
Got a quick question.
Lately I have been having a hard time keeping the ejector rod tight on my 629 Classic. It comes loose and makes it tough to swing the cylinder.
Is there a way to keep the rod tight? I assume you would not want to loc tite it.
The front sight kinda wobbles side to side as well, I guess the cylinder seems a bit looser too.
Any way to tighten this gun up some?

Jim, I just use finger nail polish on the threads to keep them tight or you can use blue loc tite, don't use red! Same with the front sight Or if you like you can send it down here to Idaho & give me a couple of years to work out the kinds........just saying! Had a 629 DX once & let a guy from Idaho Falls talk me out of it, haven't spoken to him since! Scoped, that thing would hit a grasshopper at half a block.

anybody think a 3 inch barreled 44 is worth fooling with??? It would be for a general toting in the woods and probably carry two snake loads, I might even try to kill a doe with it. I have a 4 inch 629 now and there are a couple of smith's that look cool to me the 2.75 inch model 69 combat magnum and the 629 deluxe with the nice wood grips, 3 inch barrel.

I was cruising through northern Nevada today and stopped to take a couple of pics. Have gun, will travel. Great ranch country. Lots of round-ups going on right now, as winter is fast approaching. Shiny new Milt Sparks leather and my old 7.5" .44 Magnum Flattop. CHEERS!

Reference your question about the barrel length. I would skip the 3" length with the N Frame in favor of the 4" since it is most likely going to be carried in a holster, and the extra barrel length will aid in shootability and lessen muzzle blast. That said, in the smaller frame Model 69, the 2.75" is a horse of a different color and with light loads and a proper holster may be a pretty practical and comfortable little package.

Every time I look in the safe I keep hoping my SS Super Blackhawk will have become a Bisley Hunter. Not yet. There is always hope!

Figured it was time for an update. This target was shot at 50 yards. The revolver is a 5" M29 Classic, zeroed at 100 yards. The load is 10 grains Unique using IDAHO1945's 240 grain Powder Coated cast hollow point. The low shot on the bottom target is most certainly operator error.
