Boy am I glad I did. It's a bit of a PITA to make due to all the ingredients but well worth it.
I left the Bacon I cooked to make the drippings in the gravy (who in their right mind wouldn't) and omitted the Celery Seed because I didn't have any but it didn't seem to hurt it.

Any of you southern boys make Tomato Gravy.....if not you should.

Sometime back someone, maybe Denny?, posted about tomato gravy. That was the first time I had heard of it.

This was awful. Don't do it I beg you! grin

Elk tenderloin with cognac mushrooms, roasted potatoes and crispy panko broccoli.

Pulled it off the grid at 115 and in 15 minutes it rested to 140. Perfect.

That looks really good Pugs.

I boiled a Hutterite chicken and made chicken noodle soup.

Tried out my new stock pot.

Used thinner noodles this time. Worked well.

Noodles made in Polson Montana! Love it!

I was pretty busy this afternoon. Made a batch of kosher pickled eggs and some bread and butter pickles.

Its getting to be fall........my Eskimo sense tells me its time to start laying in provisions.

Stopped by at a local well know dive restaurant in a rough part of Phoenix.

Carolina's Mexican Food. 12th st & Mohave.

Had the Tamale combo plate. Pretty good.

Chicken Creole Soup.....I was looking for something different and I'm a sucker for anything Creole so I made a half a batch.
I'm glad I didn't make the whole batch....It's not horrible but something's missing and I can't figure out what.

Looks tasty FG. Getting to be soup and stew season even here in the Kommiefornia Central Valley. Coolest Sept I can remeber for many years.

The chicken soup I made was good.

Wife made a fine stew last week.

I must be the simplest country sumbitch around.....I get excited about stew.

Mom has been making hamburger macaroni soup since I was a kid, and before.

I hated it when I was young.

Oh yea......it had plenty of Tony's....the recipe called for a pinch of cayenne but you know me better than that.
I even used a can of diced tomato's that had some Hatch Chili's in em too.
I can't put my finger on it but it just didn't do it for me.....maybe it'll be better tomorrow night.....hope so cause I'll be eating it for a couple of more days.....my Mamma would come back from the grave and whip my back side with her thong if I were to ever throw perfectly good food out.

I don't know about that Jim...I think I could give you a pretty good run for your money to see who claims that title.

Wife is cooking up a pot roast for dinner. She also made tapioca pudding for dessert. I get some pics up later.

My son's in town for a few. Treating him (and us) with Axis steaks medium rare, mashed 'taters, baked acorn squash, saute'd in garlic butter mushrooms.. Basic, and wonderful.

I made a pot of sauce with Italian sausage my friend, member Tracy (Ranger) Green, picked up from my home town and delivered to the annual 'fire Arizona shoot. It was killer.

I know there’s a flux capacitor in that thing.
