I acquired a complete Browning A-Bolt bolt assembly but I dont have an A-bolt. The rotating shaft between the handle and bolt head is 4.5" long. Can someone with an A-bolt please measure theirs and let me know their caliber so I can figure if I have a short action or long action bolt please?
Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for an action or gun without a bolt for your bolt?

No sir, I acquired it as part of a package buy of parts and trying to identify it accurately. It is medium bolt faced. Once I know exactly what I have I'll eventually list it but wasn't attempting that on this forum and didn't want to violate any rules.

ralfus,

I have an A-Bolt in 6.5 Swede, which is a long action. From bolt head to bolt handle, it measures, 5.200" and bolt face measures, .495". If you are going to list it for sale, you should probably Google A-Bolt, A-Bolt II and A-Bolt3 to find out which version your short action bolt is. I hope this helps. RJ

If you ever figure out what you have, don't sell it. I have a A-Bolt II Medallion 7mm Rem Mag that I bought in the early 90's when they offered it in the Boss version and its still slick as glass. There are not a lot of after market parts for Brownings, but the action is very nice. Mine is a long action (of course) as RJ's, so no need to measure unless you really need it. Its definitely the Queen in my safe.
