Monday or never, the court determines time and date of the case. Not the accuser or her lawyer. This. All the MSM outlets + NPR are relentlessly hammering the fact that Bush asked the FBI to investigate Anita Hill's accusations in 1991, but Trump won't do the same. None of them mention that both Hill & Clarence Thomas were FEDERAL EMPLOYEES at the time of the alleged offenses. Why can't they add this short sentence to their reporting? FC

As usual, the Repubs have bought a ticket to the Dem game. If the Senate fails to get the judge confirmed next week they can forget the mid terms. They throw the faithful under the bus trying to avoid bad press and we’ve seen that picture show a dozen times.
Millions of voters held their collective noses and chose Trump strictly because of the S C and if the Senate can’t back Trump to the hilt on this nomination, we are back to the Uniparty that has governed us for years.
Tell the bitch it’s our way or the hiway....

I’m still hoping that Grassley and the other Republicans on the committee will show some balls and hold to the Monday hearing, show or don’t show. They’ve given in enough to this freak show. But I’m expecting the worst.
If we live long enough, we all have regrets. But the ones that nag at us the most are the ones in which we know we had a choice.

Here's her demands.
* Ford wants Kavanaugh to testify first and then she will tell her story to the committee, a committee staffer said. That request, though, was unlikely to pass muster because it isn't normal practice to have someone who is accused of something testify first and not be able to respond to claims.
* She doesn’t want Kavanaugh to be in the room when she is.
* Ford wants to be questioned by senators, not a special counsel. Multiple news reports on Thursday indicated a female special counsel was being considered to questioning Ford instead of the committee.
* She wants a single photographer in the room.
* Ford requested additional safety measures. Her attorney says she's received a number of death threats
* She said she is willing to testify at earliest on Thursday.
* She has requested that Kavanaugh’s high school friend Mark Judge be subpoenaed to testify, a move that a committee staffer said was unlikely because it is not traditional for a committee to subpoena for nominations. Ford says Judge was in the room, but Judge has denied the incident took place when they were all high school students.
We should just re-write procedure and law for her. So she wants Title IX type trials to move into the the Senate. What a fucking goat rodeo. McConnell needs to be polite but firm. "No. We as a Senate Committee will decide on the procedure. Dr. Ford will testify first and present her case, witnesses (if any) may then be questioned, then the accused, Judge Kavanaugh will then have an opportunity defend himself. Just we have been conducting hearings and trials for the entire history of this country (and before).

Grassley should simply say:
Mrs. Feinstien, you held this[possibly pertinent] information for 2-3 months yet intentionally chose to bury it until the last moment to disrupt the procedure. You[press] will need to speak with Mrs. Feistien as to why she chose to keep this [possibly] pertinent information confidential. Mrs. Ford may come testify under normal senate committee rules on Monday morning prior to our confirmation vote which WILL take place on Monday afternoon.
And then just walk away.

It is obvious this is nothing more than a delay tactic. Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court will change the balance of power on the court for several decades and the Dems don't want this to happen so they are trying to delay the vote until after the mid-term elections, hoping they will pick up enough Senate seats to deny confirmation. They are trying to delay the vote one week at a time.
The Republicans are counting votes probably every hour and don't have enough to confirm the nomination so they have no choice but to delay the vote until they can confirm. This all boils down to two or three Senators that are allowing it to happen. If there were enough votes to confirm, the nomination would move forward because there is no logical reason to play this game.
Wait unit RBG passes and Trump nominates another constitutional judge. By the way, I heard yesterday RBG claimed she was sexually abused by A. LIncoln.

You have to remember that Grassley has Flake on the committee. Nothing better he would like to do going out the door than torpedo Trumps nominee. Then the senate has to deal with Corker, Collins and Murkowski. Can’t really say these 3 are conservative Republicans. Both Flake and Corkers approval was in the toilet in their home states. The women only agree on abortion.
Putting all the above aside, the candidates in Arizona and Tennessee need help. Don’t loose this opportunity to replace these bone heads with conservative senators. Hasbeen

She's not ready to testify after 36 years of ruminating on this, telling a therapist six years ago, writing a letter about it early in the summer, talking to the Washington Post, deleting her social media accounts, and taking a lie detector text before she was outed.
But Brett Kavanaugh who was taken completely by surprise last week says the very next day he's ready to testify?
And she wants Kavanaugh to testify first, before he really knows what his accuser says? This amounts to a kangaroo court.
The Democrats are demonstrating why they should have nothing to do with the judiciary.
