I have a method I use for just about everything; Lowest common denominator. It's gotta work every time, It should be American made and I gotta be able to afford it.
Those 3 parameters pretty much eliminates any cheesy chinese crap or Nightforce mortgage your house models right off the top.
I use my optics at the range and in the field both so I need good quality glass, sure, but just as importantly I need something that won't fog up.
I've tried many rifle scopes over the years and having my hunt ruined first thing in the morning with an expensive nikon brand rock sitting on my cantilever will not be repeated.
That's right, nikon monarch red dot pos no good fogged up junk I couldn't get off the 11-87 fast enough.
I hate seein' that white tail wavin' bye-bye.
The only rifle scope I've ever had that didn't fog up on me has been any of my 6 Leupolds. Never, not even once.
Sure, I'd love to stick my chest out and show off my Schmidt & Bender fusion reactor driven star cruiser $123,456,789 rifle scope.
Maybe someday.
