Free will is why the world is the way it is. God needs us for something and free will is the tool he gives us to show him who to place where.
My guess.
As far as my being wrong... I more than believe in the God of mercy that I am familiar with from an American upbringing.
I feel that my own conscience is God's tool of guidance and I do my level best to follow it in all matters and that may be one of the hardest things we can do.
With what I've been through and what I think I understand now I'm much less inclined to be bothered by people telling me I'm wrong.

a little dry wit and humor can sometimes go a long ways.

i'd add to the possibilities that god does exist, but started the whole kabang going, and has walked away to pay attention to other activities of his, or is watching from afar to see how things are working out that he "invented."

God is always willing ,but not always able. Not that he doesn't have the power to do it. God is limited in how he interacts with mankind through both Man's free will and the covenants that God has made with man. God has always made contracts or covenants with men,but society,or religion were too dumb to see them,and so have always wondered what God will do ,and why he will do it.

Suppose.God could destroy all evil with a blink,but in doing so he would also have to destroy the men that practiced the evil. So then,all men being evil to some degree,what was God to do? He could have made a set of laws to let men see how evil they were and so had a certain level of evil that was allowed to live ,but the really bad evil would have to die. Now this is exactly what about 90% of the church thinks God did,but they are idiots.

What God really did was to decide that all evil had to go,none could stay, but to get rid of it,he had to make a way to separate the evil from the man.In order to do this,God himself had to cause himself to become a man.Through covenants with the men and women to whom he had given the earth,namely Abraham, and Mary, God was born as a man. he kept all the covenants that God had made with man,making the only contracts that man would have ,between the Man Jesus and the Father God.so now that this covenant could never be broken.

I've always gotten a kick out of the scripture where Job questions God. God lays the smack down on Job. Job cowards and basically acknowledges that he isn't crap, then God gives him some more.

Every outdoorsman should read this passage, whether they believe or not

I've always gotten a kick out of the scripture where Job questions God. God lays the smack down on Job. Job cowards and basically acknowledges that he isn't crap, then God gives him some more.

The God of the Old Covenant is the same God as the New Covenant. He still hates sin just as much as he did under the Old Covenant. He still has the wrath as in the Old Covenant. Despite what most churches teach, God isn't now a big Teddy Bear. He is still to be feared, the fear of God is the beginning of knowledge. The difference is the atonement of sin through Jesus Christ versus the Law.

Job was not necessarily a Jew if I recall correctly. He is sort of a mysterious OT figure who is not given a particular timeframe.

I think it is best read as an epic poem which could fit in many cultures other than Abraham’s.

I agree about not being Abraham's culture. I think the real person Job lived prior to Abraham.

The answer, that complexity of simplicity, is incomprehensible to the human mind enured with the idea that we are truly alive and living separate from all else (a necessary illusion that allows the universe to function). We possess none of our imagined attributes, especially the idea that we are rewarded or condemned for our innocence or guilt, by an overarching deity. What we are, at the most basic level, are cells of individual experience where what we refer to as God is experiencing His nature through a form of "life" that is subject to all the forces that He is not. None of us is truly alive, any more than a self-determinate computer program is. We are just animals, one that can conceive of a universe where only consciousness exists, to dream of everything else. The child with cancer is that portion of God learning the implications of that scenario. When the child dies, He knows nobody actually died, but can judge its meaning by how other humans are affected. While no individual is judged, the whole of the God / Humanity system is assessed for meaning and desirability. At some future endpoint, the data will most likely result in creation of like beings, trustworthy of inheriting full immortal deification as companions to that which has existed alone in infinite seclusion. The analog Man, becomes a universal law without limits, and God has procreated a worthy family with attributes we have all agreed upon as desirable in a paradisiacal existence. Although, one should caution that the final result may be an exact duplicate of our current reality, where the only change is that we realize our status as characters playing roles but that our lives, pains and joys end in death and we merely begin a new role in an infinite cycle of self-discovery that is entertainment.

Then again, maybe not.

Mysteries like Job and Melchizedek actually lend authenticity to the O T collection of writings which were selected for inclusion in the Bible. You’d think that at some point they would have been eliminated or “ fleshed out “ by transcribers unless there really was a commitment to faithfulness.

N T writers may have known more about both of these figures than they wrote down. Likening Jesus to “ the order of Melchizedek “ hints at that and implies ............ something.
