Great info - what barrel length are you running on your 260?

Why wouldn't you? Dead, cleanly killed animal... Am I missing something? Is it about the 12oz of rib meat lost?

Just like I said in PMs the other day, and same as Form is saying, it's a compromise. I want the easy upset down range and if it's a little messy up close, I'm good with that. Match your bullet construction to starting velocities and go shoot schit.

Mine is a 24-inch Criterion barrel.

Shot a big bull caribou last week with 147 eld-m from a 6.5 Creedmoor. This bullet started at approximately 2660 fps hit the bull caribou at 405 yds at approximately 2175 fps. It was a quartering away shot and hit behind front shoulder and stopped against the hide part way up the neck on the opposite side. I found it when caping. Good internal damage and weighed 98.25 gr. I’ve had good luck with 140gr eld-m on deer and goat but this is the first year using 147 gr.

Nice picture! I have only recovered one in a deer and that was at close range, through both shoulders. All that was left was the jacket and a bit of lead. The distance was only about 70 yards, so it was smoking along pretty good when it hit. I really like the 147 in my Creed. I start the bullet at 2745 fps. I shot a doe white tail this summer on a depredation permit. The distance was 405 yards and it was a bang-flop through both shoulders.

To me, they're too slow.

Some were advocating them in the 26 Nosler, just wasn't impressed.

If I want to shoot 160's, I'll get my 7RM

I'll be in Wyoming in October to take a Pronghorn and Cow Elk. I'll be shooting a 6.5CM and 143 ELDX's. I'll file a report when I'm back.

Shot this mature doe on the weekend. Roughly 0.5" hole in the ribs on the entry side, and about 1.25" exit. Of the animals I've shot with it so far, I haven't seen violent expansion, but haven't hit any heavy bone yet, either. 6.5 Creed, 2650 fps launch, ~40 meter shot.

Curious isn't the ELD-M supposed to be even more geared to hunting use? The BC difference won't make any difference to me so why pick one over the other?

About 100 meters or so. Internal damage was average for a C&C bullet.
