Shot my new rifle yesterday, only shot factory loads to get sighted in and shoot a few groups for velocities. Was surprised the velocities were so slow. SO, looking for a SAFE, faster load with the 140 VLDH, Elite Hunters, ballistic tips, ELDX. Rifle is a CORE Solutions, 6.5 Creedmoor, Lone Peak Titanium action, Proof Research 1-8 barrel, Trigger Tech Trigger, Manners EH1

H-4350 seems to be THE powder for the Creedmore.
That's where I would start.

The same powder that gives the highest velocity in a long barrel will also do so in a short barrel.
The only concern would be if that particular rifle did or did not like it....

That's awesome velocity with a sbr, what's your load? I'm about to work up some loads with 140 and 147gr eld's in a 20' Tikka creed.

I would start at 44 grains of it and work up from there to what your rifle likes or find pressure. Ironically the 147 shot almost the exact same velocity in my 18" Barrett as it did in my wife's 20" Tikka CTR with the same powder charge.

Yes, that is correct. Sometimes powders leapfrog each other as barrel length changes. From what I've seen, though---using QL modeling, is that the switcheroos are never very significant in terms of how much velocity. Lots of guys are under the impression that barrel length is the most important consideration in selecting a powder, and that just is not the case. The general rule that "the same powder that gives the highest velocity in a long barrel will also do so in a short barrel" is a credible claim---with minor exceptions of little significance. That's why the disclaimer "by and large."

I tried 43.0 RL-16 and 42.4 H4350 Both were accurate but this is because of the rifle. If I put time in , they would be tighter
4350 load was really too hot, stiff bolt and shiny case heads RL 16 load was a "tad" warm but had good Vel. I'm going to tone both down a bit, see what happens. My BDC Turret is set for 140 gr @ 2625fps.
Is there any way to figure how much to lower these loads? 1 grain? how many FPS should this lower?
I know I should ladder test but I don't have the time or patients, I'm Old.
I'll post pictures later
Thanks

Thanks Can't give you FPS but 1 grain less on a slightly hot load should relieve the sticky bolt in a small case like the Creedmoor . I'd only load a few for a test though . That's a great looking rifle - first class !! Good shooting too .
