In the Marlin catalog. https://www.marlinfirearms.com/lever-action/model-1895-big-bore/444-marlin

I already put the wife on notice I'm getting one next year.

I'm glad they brought it back, too good of a round to let go into obsolescence.

Twist rate is right, too. That's a hoss of a round with heavy-bullet loads. The one I had was 1/38, so 265 grains was just about top-end for weight.

Yeah, the 1 in 38" sucks. Hope the specs are correct for the new one.
Now they need to change the 44s the same

I sure hope that they're as reliable as they say.
I always wanted one, and was even able to shoot an older model at a gun range once.

If anybody wants a nearly-new Lee Loader for their .444, PM, me. I was going to put it in the Classifieds, but figured I'd go straight to the .444 crowd first. Complete with paperwork in the red Lee box for $25 shipped to CONUS.

Heck, why not visit Gunbroker and buy one now? A USED ORIGINAL Marlin, of course. Them older ones HAVE to be better than the new Remlins, since so many folks beetch about them! wink

The 444 Lee Loader is sold pending receipt of funds. Thanks, Mike!

Funny, been shooting my 1894 44 mag for going on 30 years now and never once had an issue with the safety.

I'm hoping the 444 does make it to market as I like the twist and Ballard rifling. I got few boxes of ammo I got years ago from one of the editors at Guns & Ammo.

I got my first hammer block safety levergun (a Winchester) in 1996. I've seldom been without a HBS lever since then and I've never had a problem. Guys are used to a safety button on a pump or auto but if you put one on a lever the masses are suddenly befuddled.

I'd happily take the newer Remlin with 1/20 Ballard rifling over the older 444 with 1/38 micro-groove rifling.

Jim go get one! Take it from a broken down & some what old fart, " You ain't gettin' any younger and they ain't gettin' any cheaper". A used .444 will be cheaper and proballay better quality than a new one if & when they appear.
