for once yes <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I am fed up of watching her suffer with the broken skin and itching,

Give me a little while and hopefully I can let you know something, I know another person that had a problem with it and she looks to be over it completely.

A friend of mine had it for years. His Dr. recommended, at least in his case, that he go tan in a tanning booth. I think he went weekly and it seemed to help. It did not get rid of it, but seemed to help keep it in control. Must have something to do with the ultraviolet light...

Excema as opposed to Psorisis?

My cousin has suffered from it for some thirty years on and off and finally gave in to "natural" medicines in desperation, she now uses something called Apis Mellifera Skin Care Cream from these people: http://www.beewild.com/product.asp?product=Eczema+Cure

She swears by it, not as a cure but as relief that is long lasting and it minimizes the "attacks" she has. I don't know for sure, but again she swears by it.

I hear a lot of radio adds for skin zinc and Zim's crack cream. Don't know if they work or not.

No promises my friend, but my cousin Florence swears by it, and she has tried EVERYTHING known to man.

Loggy I ain't sure it will cure it but the stuff I use when my hands and feet get chapped an start to crack open is called Bova Cream. It is an industrial strength cream that darymen use on cow udders when they get chapped and crack open. Go to your local daryman and ask him for some bag balm. Bet it will help a lot.

My wife has had severe excema all her life. At first, they'd give her cortisone shots. These helped immensley, but are really only a temporary fix. She has used cortisone cream all he life as well. It hepls, isn't as severe as the shots, but it does slowly build up in your system.

I think a frosty reception would be given to a large tub of industrial udder cream from my better half!!

but it could be good fun ! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Boggy ~ can you advise on application rates and frequency! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

take her to the dermatologist or your family doc and ask about PROTOPIC cream. until then, use 1% hydrocortisone cream; this is a over-the-counter medication. but please note that long term use of flouridated steriods, like hydrocortisone can cause skin atrophy("shrinking" of the skin). also, open lesions, such as spots she has scratched, need a topical antibiotic cream(like neosporin) to prevent a skin infection. eczema sucks!

IMHO, Bag Balm,,, made by the Dairy Assoc. Inc. in Lyndonville, Vt and available at most any feed store, cheap. Very effective for anything that is skin related. Smells good too.
