Not dinner, but dessert, last two days, peach upside down cake.

I'm assuming those were home grown peaches?

As far as the shooting goes.....I didn't do any.
I have no interest in shooting or eating pen raised Pheasants but she invited me and I can't say no to a pretty gal.Ha
Kidding aside she's a special friend that I don't see as often as I should so naturally I went along for the fresh air and chit chat.
Besides.....how many here can say they know a successful woman that owns a pointing dog and likes to shoot birds?

Cluck Cluck..... grin

It gets better......Wendy works with a surgeon from Czechoslovakia who wants to get a couple of Mountain Curs (believe it or not) but they're pretty scarce so she's never actually been around one. Well Wendy knows that I have a Cur Dog so she asked me if I could bring my dog by for a visit. Again I couldn't say no so we all met at Wendy's a couple of weeks ago and her friend turned out to be just as good looking and down to earth as Wendy is (with a wonderful Czech accent) so naturally we hit it off wonderfully..grin I hooked her up with a guy down in No NV that raises some great Cur dogs and she promised to e-mail me some of her favorite recipes.....which I suspect will involve cabbage and/or potato's. I'll no doubt be posting some Czech dinners here in the near future..... stand by.

Ya know......there's no shortage of beefalo in these ID woods but there's some real gems too..
Fortunately these two gems know I'm just a harmless old fool so they tolerate me. smile

FG,

"beefalo" ha ha, Lewiston/Clarkston Wally's has a bunch for sure, but which one doesn't.

Glad you could get out, and I'm sure there's a few on the board here that know some dog owning pheasant shootin' pretty gals...................but not many others out there in greater Amurica for sure.

Not homegrown peaches. Haven't met anyone with a tree yet and mine's still only 5' tall transplant from this spring. Be a coupla years for that to bear fruit.

Actually, Patti got them at our local grocer and while good enough to put in the bottom of a cake pan I'd have had a hard time eating them in hand. End of the season and store bought don't make for good peaches in this boy's mind. Made a dang tasty cake tho!

Yesterday's lunch. We have a little Thai/Japanese place that is under new ownership. Food was WAY better than the last time I ate there...............but my god, they are spendy for our little town. I opted for the beef in oyster sauce and a yellowtail collar.

And I ate the whole thing as I was hungry and I hadn't had this kind of stuff for a while. grin

Tonight will be leftover elk pot-roast I slow-cooked on Sunday. Last night I had my first taste of antelope from the first one I harvested Monday, a decent 11" mature buck. I pan fried backstraps in olive oil that I lightly seasoned with Johnson's seasoning salt and some pepper; they were quite tasty and better than expected. Roasted potatoes and steamed broccoli rounded out the dinner.
