I'm guessing a special run but this would make a sweet combo. Ruger 77 Compact 6.8

Scott,
Bring this up with Short Action Smoker Of Whittakers Guns, Maybe He can make something happen!
He has commented about requests for 6.8 bolt rifles in the past.
I know I would buy one... but would prefer a little more barrel length (18 inches) and threaded would make us supressor shooters very happy.

I really like the 6.8 SPC. I have one in an AR that my late brother built, that's a real shooter. It has a 20 inch barrel, which I prefer as it gives the cartridge a little more speed. I'd be interested in a bolt gun, but would want a synthetic stock, and a barrel longer than 16 1/2 inches.

Jerry I have one coming. They sold out pretty fast. I think there are a lot of 6.8 AR users out there that would like a lightweight bolt action to go with their AR. I'm surprised it took this long for someone to do a special run.

remington did a run of 6.8s in varmint-contour rifles at one point, IIRC.

If I were to bet. I’d say ruger will unveil an American rifle in 6.8 in 2019

I’d say ruger will unveil an American rifle in 6.8 in 2019 i wish i could like the mericans. they shoot, hands down, better than the 77s, 77 mkiis, 77 hawkeyes, 77/22, and 77/44s that ive owned. like out of the box tackdrivers. something about the el cheapo stock or action is a turnoff, though

I poked around the 6.8 forum and apparently this is "found" stock of only 8 rifles.

It came in Thursday. I mounted the SWFA Ultralight on it since it seems like a great application. It weighs just under 7lbs with scope and measures a little under 36" overall. The trigger is 4lbs out of the box with just a hint of creep. I measured the mag box at 2.4" so I will have a little room to play with seating depth. Pretty neat little rig. Maybe I will shoot it in a few months after the floods recede and the shooting ranges are open again.

Seems like a rifle that I might like. I just wish they had one in heavier calibers. I would like a 358 win but a 450 Bushmaster or even possibly a 44 mag. To me the design speaks of short range woods hunting.
